They History Don Bosco





In 1894 the Salesians arrived in Guaira together with Father Bergeretti.

Days later they arrived in the city of Valencia reting a house on thr coner, beginnig pastoral activity.

The school o pened at the begining of 1895, where the actividades of groups as the band began.


6 months late the school had 200 students, which forced the salecians to move a longer house, the corrutent headquarters.



In february 1898, due to the smallpox epidemic, they temporarily closet the school and cared for the sick.

Father Bergueretti promised the virgin help to build santuary for her if that scourge stopped. Once grace is obtained, the Father fulfills his promise and be ginsthe construction of the santuary.


Years later, Father Ricardo Alterio began the new construction of the santuary in honor of Mary Help of Cristians, wich was consecrated on january 29 by the bishop of Valencia at that time.

  Founded in 1896, the “Don Bosco” School Show Band is the oldest in the state of Carabobo and Venezuela, being recognized as Artistic and Cultural Heritage of said region in 2008. The “Don Bosco” School Show Band bases its precepts on the integral legacy of San Juan Bosco “good Christians, honest citizens”, with a view to developing the individual and group potential of the youth that makes up its ranks. Among his most significant recent participations are: the celebration of the arrival of the Salesians to Venezuela, held at the Poliedro de Caracas; It is considered a guest band for life at the International Sun Fair (Edo. Mérida) and winner of 1st Place in the National Band contest at the 2010 Valencia Carnival. In 2011 it won the Binational Band Contest held in Viterbo (Colombia), carried out on the occasion of the centenary of said city.

The life of Don Bosco

  John Melchior Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, was born on August 16, 1815 on a farm located in the Becchi hills. The young John Bosco was born into a poor and humble family dependent on agriculture. His parents were Francisco Bosco and Margaret Occhiena and his two brothers José and Antonio. Just two years after her birth, the tragic death of her father left Margarita in charge of raising the three children by herself.
